What Is an SVA Display?

An SVA display is a type of display device that’s powered by SVA technology. As previously mentioned, it’s a form of LCD technology. LCD technologies are defined by their use of liquid pixels. They don’t use solid pixels. Rather, LCDs feature a layer of liquid pixels.

Many LCDs use a vertical alignment technology. SVA refers to a specific type of vertical alignment technology. It was pioneered by Samsung as an upgrade to standard vertical alignment technologies. With SVA, the liquid pixels are arranged in a wide variety of directions — more so than the liquid pixels in standard vertical alignment technologies.

Advantages of SVA Displays

One of the main advantages of SVA displays is a wider viewing angle. The viewing angle of a display device refers to the angle at which you can see the images displayed on the screen. You can always see the images when standing directly in front of a display device. As you move to the side, though, the images may seem to disappear out of sight. SVA displays have a wider viewing angle than other types of LCDs, including those with standard vertical alignment technology.

Disadvantages of SVA Displays

SVA displays are still relatively. Therefore, you may have trouble finding them for sale. LCDs are undoubtedly common. LCD, in fact, is the most common display technology on the market, so you can find LCDs available for sale at most stores. While SVA is a type of LCD technology — it’s specifically a type of vertical alignment technology — it’s not as common as other LCD technologies.

You can also expect to pay more for an SVA display than other types of LCDs. SVA displays are more expensive. They feature a more complex design that involves the use of pixels from a variety of angles. As a result, SVA displays cost more than other types of LCDs. If you’re on a budget, you may want to choose an LCD with standard vertical alignment technology, instead.
